They feature a counterbalanced horizontal-entry door, which opens automatically for point-first, single-handed disposal and provides optimum capacity to the fill line. Collectors 305551, 305543 and 305517 include a back shield. The 5.4-qt. size is also offered in a side-entry style that features a needle-removal port for disposal of hypodermic, phlebotomy and dental needles and prefilled cartridges. Labeled with biohazard warning. Autoclavable.

A locking bracket for 5.4-qt. sharps collectors is available separately. It features a counterbalanced door/horizontal drop design, providing more capacity to the fill line.
